I got this friend...who can spot a girl with Potential a mile away.
She don't need no car, no job - whatever....
Just as long as she's - 5'3, light skinned, with a pony tail..
HUH - Shorty's got Potential!
Good...No!
Great with the gift of gab,
remarkably inspirational.....
A deep New York accented monotone, that's
very sincere and higly motivational....and
educational.
Yeah, he has some jewels for your mind.
He could teach you a thing or two...
you know, about what you can do for him...
and you'd sware that he just did something for you!

" To know me is to Love me" that's his motto...
Now with game like this,
what chic wouldn't wanna follow?
Ah, but its not game,
it's actually true.
to know him is to love him, cause
kid has Potential.
I mean, he's got a good heart-
its just surrounded by a bunch of confusion,
but we could all say that about alot of people we know.

My closest friend, I had to share with incarceration.
Lord only knows how he dealt with the degradation...the humiliation.
Lord only knows how I dealt with the seperation..the whole situation cause..
that's my brother from another mother..you know.
But he's straight - he's in some good hands now!
Done got settled down now!
Turned into a family man now!
Huh..my brother...I'm proud of you.
Not because you're settled down, but because you're finally reaching your Potential!

And cuz..I'm proud of you too!
Check it out..I have this cousin who..
keeps running from commitment, trying to find a new commitment,
but he's already in a commited relationship!!?!?!?
Shhh...I try not to say that too loud cause, he's also in denial!
This brother is one of the kindess, most respectful, dependable, good hearted brothers I ever met.
For any woman around - 35...
with that new found sex drive...and who's personality is influential-
they're gonna grab onto this kind, respectful, dependable, good hearted brother cause..
they know he's got Potential!
OH - and did I mention he has NO KIDS!
just a kid brother.
and he also looks out for his retired mother whom he never leaves without giving her a kiss,
and telling her that he loves her.
That's my dude right there!
He's gonna be a great husband and father, I sware -
cause that man has Potential.

So why the heck does he look up to me?
Shoot..i look up to him.
You know you're doing something right, when your girl is like-
" You should be more like your friend!"
and then I give her the eyes like " WHICH ONE???"

Cause,
I got a friend who taught me that every girl is a freak and
I got this friend who schedules one for every day of the week and,
I got this other friend who is a lover of the arts..
he started me writing poety, told me to write what's in my heart.
I got this older friend, who used to look at me like his younger reflection,
of a man being pulled in crazy directions by his crazy erections and,
I got a few other friends that fell in love with their situations -
always talking about revolution and change...
but their scared to change, and just settle for adaptaion.
What ever happened to ambition?
Nigga's done got lazy...
but we travel from the bed - to the bathroom - to the kitchen!
