Rayquon Story

Rest In Peace young brother!

NO TITLE (JUST THOUGHTS)
to Rayquon and Tournette

I didn’t know you, yet I know you too well.
You are Son, Grandson, Brother, Nephew, Cousin, Friend, Rayquon.
Sadly, others will simply call you - Statistic.
Woe to those that place you, and those that have passed before you as a result of gun violence, into one big file…
in the back of one long drawer…
in one huge cabinet…
in one cold, dark room.

Their minds.

Then they say, “That’s life in the hood.” Satan, I rebuke you! That’s not life in the hood.
That is DEATH IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD.

another

unnecessary

death

We hurt. We cry. We mourn. We remember.
But do we? “Life goes on.”
So true… for some.
But what about the mother of this man-child? And those before her, too many to name? Does her life go on?
Or will she wake every morn
to the reality of a child gone
after a night of dreaming he were
SITTING RIGHT THERE?

too tough to call.

“I know how you feel”, they’ll say.
“Do you?” “Cause I pray you don’t and never will”.

Still – life does…
go on.

it just won’t be the same.

God Bless
Rayquon’s family and friends
May you be blessed with strength to endure your pain; Rayquon may have been one person to this world but was the world to one person.
Rayquon Rest in Peace.

My deepest condolences

Wow is all I can say to your words Anthony. Rayquon is in a much better place now and all though it is hard to let go, the memories of him will live on.

I haven't seen Tournette in years and it's horrible that I had to reunite with my old track mate at her childs funeral.
