A Special Prayer...

Dear Lord, I'd like to take this time to acknowledge your presence. Father, I come to you BOLDLY and in rememberance of your word, for it says in MARK 11:24 "...Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you and you will get it." So Father, right now I am praying for the health and full recovery of Larry. That he is healed in Jesus' name. I also pray for the family of Rayquon Story. I pray that hey seek comfort in your presence. That they seek your word, and ask for wisdom in every situation they encounter in these hard times. I pray that Rayquon knew you as his Lord and Savior, and he is in your presence at this moment.
Father, your word also says in Matthew 6:14 ,"For if you forgive people their tresspasses (their reckless and willful sins leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment) your heavenly Father will also forgive you." I pray that revenge is not seeked, but the stregnth to forgive is bestowed upon all who need it. I pray that the senseless acts on one or a few individuals does not infect and condemn the righteous! Father, right now I pray for healing....physical healing, emotional healing and spiritual healing for all of the families involved. May the families of each and every person reading this email travel safely, without any hurt, harm, or danger coming their way. I also pray that anyone who wants to have a closer relationship with You, seek your face and ask you to come into their heart. Father, You are the only one who can heal us at this time. I pray with confidence, and I cast my worldly cares upon You. I believe that I will receive ALL that I have prayed for, becasue it says so in your Word. In Jesus' name. AMEN

SENSE-LESS

What makes an act sense-less? Because it is immoral? Because it is unethical? A crime? Or just committed with complete & utter disregard for the people an act will effect?

All of the above.

Three weekends ago we ate, drank, danced, laughed, and reminisced. But more importantly we got a chance to sit back and pat each other on the back for the handsome young men and respectable young ladies we are all raising. For those two days we saw our children interact with each other in a different light. We’re used to seeing them run around with their local buddies, but somehow this was different. It was as if the torch had been officially passed from us to them. With full confidence that they are equipped to take it & run with it in full Gator glory!

Days had passed and during a conversation with Herb he remarked to me, “Ant, you know what the highlight of Roseland was for me, seeing Will, Larry, and Donte on stage holding it down with the elders”.

Two weekends removed from that joyous event we have all been punched in the face by reality. The reality of the times we now live in. Due to a “sense-less” act, Larry & Kim were just inches & seconds away from losing their baby FOREVER!!! There’s no coming back from forever. I thank God that Little Larry’s life was spared, and I pray for the Holy Spirit to rest in the hearts & minds of the family of the young man that lost his life, and to bring to them the peace of the Lord that surpasses all understanding.

So what makes this act sense-less? It was definitely immoral. More than unethical. Surely a crime. And truly committed without a second thought for the young men the shooter was aiming at, nor their families.

So again, all of the above!

But more than those – it was senseless because the Gator family as a whole were all just seconds & inches away from losing our “Little Larry”.

And then what?

Get well soon, L.

I would like to thank you all for your prayers. Corey that was beautiful.I am pretty sure you all know that all I have been doing was praying and my Lord has come through as usual. My family has helped me get through this. Kindell you are my rock and you keep us all sane when we are thinking the worse. You help us see the bright side when we think it is very dark. I want to give Lil Will a special thanks for saving my babys' life. I can't even think about what would have happened if he did not step up with his quick thinking. I love you Will and you already know how Lil Larry feels about you. I would also like to thank Stacey and Michie for being there for me that night it was most critical for me and my son. To Connie, Anthony and Tanya thank you for those kind words. I would like to send a special prayer out to Tournette, I can not even imagine what she is going through right now and may God bless her and her family in their time of need. I want you all to know that Lil Larry is doing well and has come home.

To Lil' Will -

Special shout to you, young man. At the time I heard what happened to Lil' Larry I didn't hear about your part in the whole episode. Now that I'm getting the full version of the story, I commend you and want you to know that we are all proud of you. You didn't just save your brother, you saved our nephew. And never forget that you also have 30 uncles & aunts that will be there for you whenever you need us. The reunion weekend was my first time interacting with you since you were a baby and I want you to know that you make us all proud by the way you carry yourself. Keep being you and don't let any person or any event change your heart.

We love you, Will.

Ant Black & the Gator fam

P.S.- we'll be needing 30 tickets for your next graduation.

Not to get off the subject, but somebody tell Lil' Larry while he's recovering that 'technically' he's eligible to participate in this basketball tournament for players with "special" needs. A little drool while you dribble... then BAMMM... crazy crossover! We could make a killing!
Holla at me...

Anthony is crazy..You brought a smile to lil Larry's face with that one. Lil Larry told me to tell you guys thanks and he loves you all. He was shot in his right elbow and he is right handed so he has to use his left hand to do everything, it looks so strange and it's driving him crazy.

He can dribble with his left, put the burger down & grab a fry both with his left hand, Kim can brush his teeth & straighten his tie, no need to brush his hair, no one writes letters any more, and he shouldn't be jerking off anyway, he could go blind!!
I think that about covers his daily activities.

To lil larry,
you know I am always riding through seein you and Wil!!! I am always on ya'll making sure you are ok and not in any trouble!!! Learn from this experience cause not many get second chances!!! Tighten your circle!!! You have to learn to love from afar!!!!!
Like we discussed we will talk about this when you are better!!!

To my lil Wil!
First thing I said before any doctor said, "YOU SAVED HIS LIFE AND WHAT HELL DID YOU LEARN THAT FROM ER?"

I am sorry Rayquon was not as fortunate! My prayers are with Tournette and the Story Family!!!

Its not about giving thanks to those who have your back. We should all be giving thanks to the LORD OUR SAVIOUR!!! We take advantage of situations and never take the time to say I love you but would rather talk negative!!!

This is a wake up for all parents and children. Life is gift!!! Embrace it, treasure it and live it!!

KIM and BIG LARRY
You know I love both of you and I am there at a drop of a dime!! Larry has alot of aunts and uncles and I am happy I am one of them!!!!

Love you all!!!!
Michi

WOW!!!This blog is truly something else. The reason being is that, this is family. I know none of yur personally, however I feel as though I know each and everyone. It is so much love going on that it is truly a blessing to have a group of people who cherish one another indivudually as well as collectively. The original "GATORS" are a "FORCE" or shuld I say "MOVEMENT" to be reckoned with. You guys stay strong for one another and always keep GOD first, and I see that you do. May GOD continue to RICHLY BLESS everyon!!! TO GOD BE THE GLORY FOR THE THINGS HE HAS dONE AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO!!!!

Actually, I was kind of hesitate to leave a comment, not knowing whether it would be welcomed or not. Not knowing if this was a just a thang between the "ORIGINAL GATORS" and "21 JUMP". Like I said in my first comment, I commend all of you for the stand that was taken to start/initiate this blog. I enjoy the old school pictures of you all - some of them had my dying, laughing so hard at my desk in the office my co-workers would ask me are you alright. Keep the LUV flowing....

Special shout to Charlene for coming through & feeling what we try to do on here. This blog is definitely about family love & all that it entails, share views, laugh, argue, make up, tell jokes. That's what makes family real.
